It is not what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters.” – Epictetus
When it comes to your experiences, you are the expert. I aim to take that expertise and provide an inclusive & safe space where you can be yourself, engage in critical thinking, and challenge thoughts & behaviors that no longer serve you. I work with older adolescent, young adult, & adult clients focusing on relationship issues, anxiety, identity development, family of origin concerns, and transitional periods in life. I have experience providing therapy to college students and coaching to students seeking career identity development in a university setting. Additionally, I have experience working with teens & adults in a private practice setting. I am currently in network with Blue Cross & Blue Shield.
My therapeutic style is based on cognitive-behavioral and person-centered approaches. I utilize a reality-based approach that focuses on the present & empowers you to make choices that align with your needs. I provide meaningful intersectional therapy that encompasses all your identities and how these identities have come to shape your beliefs & motivations.
As your counselor, I will provide you with unconditional acceptance, work alongside you to understand your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and empower you to love yourself as you are. We will work together in a mutually respectful therapeutic relationship to create a plan and develop goals that fit your individual needs.
